The gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Blue-edged leaves; lime green silk bookmark. Size: 292 × 212 × 55 mm. Size of leaf: 285 × 200 mm. Frequent marginal notes in Latin and Greek throughout this volume in a contemporary tiny ‘humanistic' Italian hand in dark brown ink, now washed, extracting key words and personal names from Servius' commentary, and supplying key words, ‘nota' marks (including the superimposed letters ‘ ω’ and ‘ Ρ’, the abbreviation for ‘ ὡπαι̂ον ‘; and signes de renvoi (including three dots and four squiggles), corrections to the Vergilian and pseudo-Vergilian texts in lighter brown ink, and providing comparable loci in Apollonios(?) (e.g. on q5r Verg. A. 6. 233: ‘ παξ αιτ ἐπιτυμμα ‘; and line 239: ‘ . . . φλογῳ ἐπιθρωσας πεπολυμενος ἀπολλωνίος ἐν Δ του̂ β’  . . . ‘). Book numbers supplied in upper margin. A slightly later hand has copied a text of ‘Rusticus aerari quondam' with divergent readings from that in this edition (incipit: ‘Villicus aerarij quondam nunc cultor agelli | Haec tibi perspectus templa Priape dico | . . .'). A few notes in red pencil in a seventeenth-century(?) hand, marking lines with brackets and paragraph marks.
