Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with remains of two leather clasps. Two catches, corner-pieces and centre-pieces lost. Remains of a rectangular paper label at head of the upper cover and ‘6' in red ink on a smaller square label above it. Triple fillets form a frame. Outside the frame a foliate stamp, a lozenge-shaped decorative stamp, and a four-petalled floral stamp. Double fillets divide the inner rectangle into four rectangular compartments further divided by diagonal fillets into triangular compartments, each decorated with a lozenge-shaped eagle, a circular rosette, a triangular dragon, and a floral stamp.
Size: 450 × 300 × 84 mm.
Size of leaf: 428 × 280 mm.
Principal initials are supplied in interlocked red and blue with red and green pen-work decoration. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue; capital strokes in red.
